Overview

An order is a purchase made for a customer. Customers create orders themselves through checkout, and you can also create them for a customer from the dashboard — no API call needed. There are two kinds of manual order: Both can be saved as a draft and finished later. You can also create orders through the Create Order API.

Creating an Order

  1. Go to Billing → Orders.
  2. Click Create Order, then choose:
    • Create Subscription Order — opens the Assign Subscription form.
    • Create Single Purchase Order — continue below.
  3. Select the customer.
  4. Under Select Items, choose the single purchases and charges to sell and set each quantity.
  5. Optionally, add any of the customer’s unpaid order invoices under Consolidatable Invoices to bill them together with this order.
  6. Click Create Order to finalize it now, or Save as draft to finish it later.

Draft Orders

A draft order is saved without being invoiced or charged.
  • Open a draft from Billing → Orders (Draft tab) to change its customer or items.
  • Click Finalize Order when it’s ready. Finalizing creates the order’s invoice.
  • Drafts can be deleted. Once an order is finalized it can no longer be deleted.
Subscription drafts are also listed when you assign that customer a subscription, so you can pick up where you left off.

Managing Orders

From Billing → Orders, open an order to:
  • Mark as fulfilled — for single purchase orders, once you’ve delivered what was sold. This can’t be undone, and isn’t available for subscription orders.
  • Cancel order — with an optional reason.
